Joy from North Dakota
I have fibromyalgia, sojgrens , have had 4 knee surgery, hyper mobility where I sprain and injury my joints regularly and many other things. For years the drs had me on 8 different medications including two pain meds and lyrica.
Those medications caused so many issues that they ended up prescribing more meds to counter act the side effects. I found kratom and have been off all the medication. I can run and play with my kids , do every day tasks , my family is happy and I am healthy because I found a safe alternative. For people like me kratom is a life saver.

Years ago I took myself off of 6 pain prescriptions (including very high doses of Oxycontin) and went to Kratom. I have safely been using Kratom for over 12 years now. It has helped me tremendously with pain with zero side effects.
Just like any over the counter item, it is safe unless it is abused. The only problem with Kratom is that it ALL needs to be labeled with precise instructions and to take it accordingly. I can think clearly, as it does not cloud my mind nor do I feel anything but a reduction in pain, so that I can take it during the day. I take 2 capsules, twice a day, which is the recommended dosage and I don't go over that...that's why I've never had a single issue with Kratom in all of these years.
Kratom is safe! Aspirin can be abused as with any other OTC med. It is not the product... it's when it's abused that problems arise like seizures. Kratom has saved me. It is my sworn testimony that Kratom is safe, effective, and quite honestly, a blessing to me because I had pain 24/7.

It is a very helpful additive in keeping a healthy life balance.

I come from a long history of late stage addiction from multiple substances, I lived a very chaotic and tragic life. I found plain leaf kratom several years back and for the first time in my life I finally felt stable.
I have been working since and literally have not missed a day of work in several years. I am no longer an absent father and I live a very stable life now, thanks to plain leaf kratom. Having access to plain leaf kratom has pulled out from under me out of nowhere and it feels personal, because it is.
I found something that works, and now the state government wants to take that away. I feel under attack, and my future stability is starting to look unstable again. Please be mindful of your residents’ health. Do the work and pass sensible regulation that only allows adults to have access to plain leaf kratom, you need to be able to distinguish between the plant and lab made supercharged extracts.

I suffer from significant chronic pain due to a back fusion surgery and, most recently, a double mastectomy with breast reconstruction. I have been prescribed several pain medications (opioids), and I do not like taking those. I will only take them if I’m on the verge of tears due to significant pain. When I started taking Kratom supplements, alternating them with ibuprofen, my pain was under control, and I felt a lot better taking this versus an opioid-controlled medication. With this ban, I am struggling. I found a more 'natural' solution to my pain, and it has been taken away from me. They would rather just push prescribed opioids that I hate taking.
